I was thinking today about the Olympic Games that start this Friday 13 August and wondering how blogs will fit into the media extravaganza to bring such an event to billions of people worldwide.
Then I came across a blog by Stuart Hughes, a news producer with BBC News in London, who is going to cover the Olympics with a personal blog. His lively-looking blog includes lots of photos as well as audio and video clips. Stuart’s blog reporting certainly should be a personal and entertaining experience, maybe more so than ‘traditional’ media reporting.
You may know a bit about Stuart already. In 2003 while covering the Iraq war, he stepped on an anti-personnel landmine which resulted in his losing most of a leg some days later. After six months of rehabilitation, he was back on the road again reporting for the BBC.
