Personalized search from Google

Following my earlier post today about Google Desktop, here’s info about Google Personalized Search.

Google Personalized

From the FAQ:

Google Personalized web search delivers custom search results that are based on a profile you create describing your interests. […] Google Personalized web search is currently available in test mode on Google Labs, where you can create and save your profile and see results tuned to your preferences.[…] Google has developed new algorithms that dynamically reorder results by weighting the interests you enter in your profile. When you move the slider, it recalculates and rearranges the results to add more or less emphasis on your profile information.

No two searchers are alike and our goal is to make your search results as relevant as possible to you. While standard Google results hopefully are close most of the time, we believe that personalization can make them even better. We want to save you from ever having to reformulate your search terms to be more precise.
