Following the Wall Street Journal’s report last week on the most respected companies in three European countries comes the Financial Times and PriceWaterhouseCoopers with a much wider and in-depth report on the world’s most respected companies.
Both the FT’s and PWC’s websites contain a wealth of detailed information from this 7th annual survey, which questioned 1,000 CEOs in 25 countries, and which extensively discusses topics and presents data that answer questions such as these:
- Which companies’ senior executives have been voted the most respected in the world?
- Who in the eyes of their peers are the top business leaders?
- What are the names of the companies creating most value for their shareholders?
- Where can you find the companies that display the most integrity, commitment to corporate governance and corporate social responsibility?
- Why is innovation seen to be so important and which companies are displaying it?
Two elements from the survey to highlight here:
1. World’s 10 most respected companies
With the sole exception of Toyota (in the number 3 spot), all the companies are American.
2. World’s 10 most respected leaders
For the third year in a row, Bill Gates has secured the top spot as the world’s most respected business leader.
