Tsunami help campaign

Om Malik is doing a great service in promoting an easy way you can find out how to contribute your help to the victims of the earthquake/tsunamis tragedy in Asia:

I have been getting a lot of email from folks wondering how to help the victims of the tsunami-earthquake tragedy that has taken place in South and South East Asia. I have pulled together a list of organizations which is an easy way to help the folks who have suffered for this most devastating tragedy. I have also this button which I have created with the help of Brian. You can link to the button from my site, and to the page, and help spread the word.

Here’s the button:

Om’s post includes a list of organizations accepting donations. They’re all in the US, so if you want to contribute elsewhere, I suggest visiting the make a donation page on the website of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

  1. Lets not remain mute spectators……………
We all are aware of the havoc created by Tsunami in coastal regions of South Asia spilling over to southern and Island states of our country. Thousands of families have been disaster struck, many swept away by tidal waves and untraceable, the survivors battling for life and survival while being completely awestricken and completely defenseless.
While we can not replace what they have lost but we can certainly make our small human endeavor by attending to their most urgent and pressing immediate need and contribute our might to collectively help bring down the miseries.
We are interested in finding some credible inviduals/organisation(s) with whom we could partner with whom possibilities could be explored for long term rehabilitation of orphan children/effected commmunities.
We are creating a Nodal Coordination Agency, yes, we already have a database of ngos. All the NGOs in the world that want to volunteer during such times can register with us.The need to coordinate efforts is the most important FACTOR. Thats why we are planning to organise a get together of all the volunteers at different dates and different locations in INDIA, SRI LANKA, THAILAND and INDONESIA.The proposed get togethers at a location will help in proper coordination and formation of teams to implement rescue n recovery operations startegically.
