Add this one to your list of examples to use in answering the question, "So what can a blog do for enhancing my customer relationships?"
Nick Bradbury, the developer of Feed Demon (RSS aggregator and reader) and TopStyle (HTML and CSS editor), has a bit of a problem concerning another software developer who has a product that, Nick says, not only looks similar to TopStyle but also blatantly uses TopStyle’s data files.
Nick posted some details in his blog and asked:
I’ve privately contacted the company that makes this editor, but have yet to receive a reply. Short of taking legal action (something I really don’t want to do, since it takes far too much time and money), what are my options here?
So far, that request has produced around 26 suggestions in the blog.
I can’t think what other medium would have enabled Nick Bradbury to have gained such spontaneous, useful and direct input from people who use his products – his customers – in such a short time and in a way that’s so easy: see the RSS feed, read it, go to the blog, add your two-cents’ worth.
How easier can it be?
