Taking Yahoo 360 for a spin

What a dilemma – six invitations to sign up to Yahoo 360°, the new social networking offering from Yahoo that launched in beta earlier this week.

Which do I choose? So as not to offend anyone, I’ve accepted the first one I received based on the email date/time stamp. And that was from Mike Manuel. Thanks again, Mike.

So I’ve started my own blog there with this friendly URL – http://360.yahoo.com/nevon360. Do drop by and say hello!

I hope to spend a bit of time in seeing what Yahoo 360 is all about. May even post a review of some kind. Meanwhile, you can read what two of our fellow bloggers have to say:

What I find interesting as well is how everyone seems to have dropped the degree symbol from the name, as in Yahoo 360 rather than Yahoo 360°. I’m sure that’s because it’s just a load of bother to hunt around to find the degree symbol on a typical PC keyboard (it’s Alt-0176 on a Windows keyboard, if you really want to know).

I also note that Steve and BL, at least, include the exclamation mark in Yahoo’s name, something I tend not to.

Why not just make it Yahoo 360? No symbols, no exclamation marks, just keep it simple.

  1. Yahoo! 360 invites page

Here’s the Yahoo! 360 invites page. Alot of invites, shouldn’t run out and the comments are closed on the other post. Please don’t request invites in here!…

  2. Hi Neville, I saw your Yahoo 360, still got some invitations ??? ;o)
Sad it’s not possible to leave any comment or even to log in if you’re not already a yahoo user with an ID, knowing that some bloggers (and so do I) never leave commments on “Blogger” blogs as an account is required, I wonder what’s going to happen if to visit and/or leave a comment on a “Yahoo 360°” you have to sign in each time….

  3. Sorry for lack of precision in my previous comment, it’s more than that in fact, you have to be a Yahoo 360° member to be able to react on another Yahoo 360° member but being a Yahoo member is enough to just see the “Yahoo 360° member platform”…

  4. Hi Guillaume, invite on its way!
Re a Yahoo 360 blog, anyone can access it and leave comments – you don’t have to have a Yahoo ID. So it’s not like Blogger used to be.
